Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
The sales person pre-Licensing educational requirements is 90 hours. The number of credit hours excepted for credit toward This 90-hour requirement will be determined by the LREC. The LREC may consider granting partial credit for the pre-license requirements of courses completed more than five years prior to the date of application; however, such credit will be based on the date of completion and the ability of the subject matter to current educational requirements. Sales person pre-licensing hours must be in specific real estate courses that include coverage of real estate principles/practices, the Louisiana real estate license law, commission rules/regulations, law of agency, and civil law pertaining to real estate.

Post Licensing and Continuing Education Requirements
It is important to note that there are distinct differences in post license education and continuing education. Post license education is a one-time requirement that requires the student to pass an examination on course content, whereas continuing education is an annual requirement that must be completed each year, as a prerequisite for license renewal. 45 Hours Post license education is required in your first 6 months.

Post Licensing Education Requirements
All initial licensees are required to complete 45 post license education hours with 180 days after the initial license day post licensing education courses are available through LREC approved education providers.

Continuing Education (CE)
All active real estate license he must complete 12 hours of approved continuing education course work each year to be eligible to renew their license for the next year. Continuing education courses are available through LREC approved education providers.
